Title:                            Ag/Business Teacher

 

Reports to:                   Principal

 

Position Summary

The Crawford County R-I School District is seeking a High School Ag / Business Teacher to provide high-quality instruction that prepares students for career readiness, postsecondary success, and real-world application. This position supports both agricultural education and business coursework while fostering a classroom environment that is structured, engaging, and student-centered. Teachers are responsible for delivering direct instruction, maintaining an environment conducive to learning, and supporting the academic and personal growth of all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

An individual who holds this position will be expected to:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional activities
Establish and maintain classroom expectations and a positive learning environment
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and discipline
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
Participate in building, grade-level, and subject-area committees
Engage in professional development activities
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to meet student needs
Participate in IEP, 504, and other student support team meetings as requested
Implement IEPs, 504 Plans, and Individual Health Plans as required
Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, or harassment in accordance with Board policy

Prepare lesson plans for substitute teachers
Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise students and maintain appropriate oversight at all times

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Certification:

Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in Agriculture Education and/or Business Education

Ability to apply current instructional strategies and educational best practices
Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

 

Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret professional materials, policies, and procedures
Ability to write lesson plans, reports, and parent communication clearly and effectively
Ability to present information and respond to questions

 

Technology Skills:

Ability to use instructional technology, smart boards, and presentation tools
Ability to utilize district software for grading, attendance, and student information

Physical Demands

Ability to move throughout classrooms and school facilities
Ability to speak and hear in environments with multiple conversations and activities
Ability to read printed and handwritten materials

Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a school environment that is active and occasionally noisy. The teacher may periodically work outdoors or in alternative instructional settings related to agricultural education.

Salary and Evaluation

Salary determined annually by the Board of Education
Performance is evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy
